Money is hard.
For a lot of people, money isn’t just numbers on a page.
It’s stress. Avoidance. Shame. Confusion.
It’s knowing you should look at your finances — and not knowing where to start.
The First Dollar Project exists because too many people are navigating money alone, without clear guidance or a safe place to ask questions.

What Financial Stability Really Gives You
Financial coaching isn’t just about budgets. It’s about time.

When people learn how to reduce debt, build savings, and plan for retirement, they gain choices. Choices to stop living in crisis mode. Choices to be present with their kids. Choices to help their kids pay for college without sacrificing their own future. Choices to spend their later years with family instead of working just to make ends meet.

That’s years of life back — and the freedom to live them well.

The First Dollar Project helps people take those first steps toward stability, one practical, supported decision at a time — so the future feels possible again.

Founder's Story
I created The First Dollar Project because I know first-hand what it's like to struggle with money. My family was on food stamps and medical coupons growing up, and I had tens of thousands of dollars of credit card debt in my 30s. I was able to pull myself out of that and am now debt free except my mortgage, and I have a good cushion of savings.

The absolute relief I feel knowing I am financially secure now is something I want everyone to feel. We should all feel safe that we won't lose our home to a medical issue, or have to work into our 70s or 80s to make ends meet.
